The Dante Alighieri School of Singing would like to give our students and members the opportunity to learn and improve their Italian language by learning to sing. Working firstly on simple famous songs (different styles and artists) that contain mixed Italian and English lyrics and secondly on more advanced songs that contain no English lyrics. vocal coach sydney

During the course, students will learn and work on the proper breathing and singing technique through specific scales and vocal exercises. They will also learn how to develop their breath support whilst also developing technical singing skills. Each lesson (60 minutes) will be conducted “in person” and will be focused on singing and learning songs, with the option of an additional 30 minutes on Music Reading Fundamentals (Music Theory).

Along with the technical side of singing, in each lesson students will study notions about the history of music, having the chance to learn about how music and the singing technique has developed through the centuries and how the Italian language used in the songs/operas developed into the “modern” form that we all know. 48 hours prior to the lesson, students will receive study notes about the subject that will be discussed.

At the end of the year/term each student will have the opportunity to perform in a recital. They may present about one character/subject/composer/opera and perform a song of their choice, introducing the story about it and singing it accompanied by Elisa Berti, our piano teacher, or a backing track.

At this stage, we are offering a beginner’s class, based on a basic course and, in addition, an intermediate course, for those who have already an ability to sing. As an encouragement to test your willingness and confidence in singing, a free 30-minute lesson will be offered to the aspiring singer.
